In the event organised by the candidate H C Thammesh Gowda at Bhartiya City near Jakkur, she said that India is far more competent than many other countries in terms of software services.
Speaking about digital advantage and financial inclusion in India, she said, “During the pandemic, when western developed economies were writing cheques and posting it by postal services, we had only to do pressing of a button so that money goes into the accounts of all the people in different parts of the country”.
At Sobha city, she took questions from the audience on budget “This century is a knowledge century. Today, any job in the entire value chain will have to be knowledge and technology drive,” she said, adding that recognition exists for Bengaluru as a knowledge and technology hub. On initiatives to protect green space, she said that India has been moving ‘really fast’. She said that India has been fulfilling the COP21 ‘nationally-determined commitments’ on its own irrespective of funding from any global agencies. “They were talking about a 100 billion per year, but that money has not come at all. We have been doing our bit in terms of fulfilling our commitments,” she said.
