The final examination for second year Pre-University course (Class 12) of the Karnataka State Pre-University board commenced on Friday, March 01, 2024.
A total of 6,98,566 students, across the three streams of arts, commerce and science, have registered for the second PU exam this year.
The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (Pre-University section) is conducting the exam at 1,124 centres across the state. It has also formed a total of 540 district squads and 3,108 special squads to supervise the examinations.
Kannada and Arabic subjects had been scheduled for the first day which saw an attendance of 96.53%. A single case of malpractice has been reported (from data across the state) in Bengaluru Rural district.
Starting this year (academic year 2023-2024) the board will conduct three exams for second-year Pre-University and SSLC (Class 10), and candidates will be given an option to choose the best of the three as their final score. This was after the Department of School Education and Literacy scrapped the supplementary exams.
Karnataka Minister for School Education and Literacy Madhu Bangarappa visited the Govt. Girls’ Pre-University College in Malleshwaram and interacted with the candidates prior to the commencement of the examination at 10:15 AM.
The next exam has been scheduled for Monday, March 04. Students will attempt Mathematics and Education exams on Monday.
