CET candidates warned of traffic congestion

KEA advises CET students to reach centres 2 hours early

In view of the oath-taking ceremony of the new Chief Minister of Karnataka on May 20 at the Kantheerava stadium, students who are attempting the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2023 on Saturday have been advised by KEA to reach their venues two hours before the start of the scheduled examination time. The advisory is applicable to those candidates who have been alloted exam centres that are located in areas surrounding the stadium (Bengaluru Central Business District)


Ramya S, Executive Director of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), in a press release on Friday, stated that the authority has taken appropriate measures to ensure students reach designated centres without delay. The steps have been taken anticipating traffic congestion in the surrounding areas of Kantheerava stadium on May 20.

She informed that candidates from 11 centres near Kantheerava stadium need to be present at their respective centres by 8.30 am. This applies to students who are taking only Mathematics exams also, she has clarified.


Breakfast and lunch arranged

In a special arrangement, breakfast and lunch will be provided to all those who have their centre at St.Joseph Indian PU College (AR-code) on Vitthal Mallya Road. This arrangement has been done in the centre since the centre is very close to the oath-taking venue.


Students who will be attending the Maths exam in the second session will also be given both breakfast and lunch. Once after having entered the centre at 8.30 am students will not be allowed to go out till the end of their examination.


KEA has also sought the assistance of police authorities in this regard. According to Ramya, candidates can seek the help of nearby police to reach their centres by showing the admission ticket.


Students who need to come early are those who have their centres in any of the below colleges (centre name and code):

Goodwill PU College for girls (AD-code), No 10, Promenade Road, Frazer Town.

St. Annes Girls PU College (BQ-code), Millers Road (Bengaluru- 560052)


RBANMS PU College (CM-code), 12A, Annaswamy Mudaliar Road, (Bengaluru-560033)


SJRC BIFR PU College (CL- code), Ananda Rao Circle, RC ROAD


Cathedral Comp PU College (EN-code) Richmond Road, NO 63, (Bengaluru -560025)


St. Euphrasias Girls Hogh School & Composite PU college (E2- code), No.6, Albert Street, Richmond Town.

The candidates are instructed to carry the UGCET 2023 AdmissionTicket, Photo ID proof {College Identity Card / Aadhar card/ PAN card / Driving

license etc,), two ball point pens {Black / Blue) with them.


In case of traffic congestion/ road blockage, the candidates can show their admission ticket to the police personnel available nearby so that they would help the candidate to reach the exam centre.


Traffic advisory


Bengaluru Traffic Police has also released an advisory on the traffic restrictions due to the oath-taking ceremony. According to BTP, the changes are applicable between 09:30 AM and 2:30 PM on Saturday


❖ All types of vehicles are prohibited from Queens Circle towards Siddalingaiah Circle, road users can take left or right turn at Queen’s Circle and move towards Lavalle Road

or Queen’s Road.


❖ Vehicles moving from Balekundri Circle towards Queen’s Circle will be diverted towards

Police Thimmaiah Circle at Patta Junction. BMTC buses and other vehicles can take a left turn at Police Thimmaiah Circle and proceed towards KR Circle.


❖ From CTO Circle towards Queen’s Circle no vehicles will be allowed but road users can

take Cubbon road and either can go towards AnilKumble Circle or towards Manipal Center.


❖ Vehicles from Halsoorgate moving towards Siddilingaiah circle are diverted towards

Devanga Junction and Mission road


❖ Vehicles of dignitaries arriving for the program are allowed to park at St. Joseph's College ground.


❖ Other vehicles can be parked at BBMP Head Office premises, Badami House, United Mission College campus and left side of the K.G.Road.


❖ Parking of all types of vehicles is prohibited on RRMR Road and Kastur Ba Road, and Mallya Hospital Road.


❖ The invitees arriving for the program should get down from their respective vehicles and reach the venue through RRMR Road and Mallya Hospital Road gates. However, vehicles need to be parked at the above mentioned parking lots.


❖ People arriving from different districts in vehicles can reach KG road/ Richmond Circle/ Queen’s Circle and reach the venue by walk while the vehicles are to be parked at Palace

Grounds.


❖ No explosives, sharp objects matchbox or lighter and such other items should be carried

to the place of function.


❖ Please follow all the directions being given by traffic police on the road.


❖ If any congestion/ accident is noticed, Immediately inform traffic control room phone

❖ Citizens attending important works and students appearing for any examination are requested to start early and reach their destination.

Examination Centers near Kanteerava Stadium


❖ Students attending CET examination on 20.05.2023 near Kanteerava Stadium are

advised to reach their examination centers before 8.30 AM


❖ In case of any assistance required for travelling, students may contact any traffic police on road.

❖ Students appearing for CET Examination at St.Joseph’s Indian PU College, Mallya Hospital road, can contact ACP Traffic Planning, Mob No 9480801809 for assistance to

reach the venue.
